while the hotel offers large comfortable rooms, its proximity to beautiful trails and the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve was a huge highlight for me as a weekend walker, making it a perfect home base for my urban explorations.

great service but slight noise issues

The staff displayed exceptional attentiveness and genuinely cared about our comfort. The outdoor amenities, including the scenic bay views, were a highlight of our stay.

The check-in process felt neglected, lacking any bell service to help with bags for a $300 price tag. The room showed its age, with furniture that seemed outdated, and the pool area had a slightly worn feel, with some toys looking dirty. I found the breakfast options subpar. despite a continental offering, I ended up paying $80 for what turned out to be a disappointing meal. The noise insulation in the rooms was inadequate as I noticed disturbances from outside, impacting the serenity I was hoping for.

The hotel had an amazing view and friendly staff, making the stay enjoyable. Room comfort was nice, but the parking fees were surprising, and the restaurant prices felt excessive. Overall, a pleasant trip, though the extra charges left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.

The property is clean and cozy, boasting a stunning pool area and roomy suites. Enjoyed movie nights for kids by the pool.

Nice space and great service

We stayed for 2 nights in a One-Bedroom King Suite with Bay View. The room had a balcony overlooking the bay, separate living area, and a comfortable sofa bed. The breakfast was really good with made-to-order omelettes. The fitness center is well-equipped, and there’s a hot tub outside for relaxation.

The room was spacious and clean with a cozy balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee. I loved relaxing at the outdoor pool and soaking in the jacuzzi after a long day. The only downside was the slightly limited parking options, but overall, it was a delightful stay! 😊

Recommended for business travelers

I had a huge room, super spacious with a nice little sitting area, which was perfect for working. The view from my room was amazing, really took the edge off a long day.

It was a bit pricey for what you get but still acceptable.

We had a fantastic time exploring Balboa Pier and nearby trails. The room was spacious and perfect for our family, especially with our 3 dogs in tow. The location offered easy access to great dining and local attractions which made our stay delightful.

For dads, it would be great if there were more dog-friendly areas to hang out around the hotel.

The bayview king suite felt roomy with a spacious bathroom. The staff greeted us warmly, making us feel special. They provided a map of nearby attractions along with restaurant recommendations. The outdoor seating with fire pits was a nice touch for evening relaxation. Renting bikes from the front desk made exploring the Back Bay trails easy. I enjoyed the restaurant’s food, especially dining outdoors with a view. However, I faced several issues. The parking fee of $40 felt excessive for the area, and finding parking was a hassle. Our room had cleanliness issues—crumbs on the floor and a dirty sofa bed detracted from the comfort. There were long waits at the front desk during busy times. Unfortunately, the small pool had no towels available, and I had to ask twice. Despite the friendly staff, I expected better for the price I paid.
